On March 30, 2025, the School of International Education successfully concluded its 10-day Spring Camp, welcoming 30 students and 3 teachers from St. Petersburg, Russia. The program combined Chinese culture immersion, scientific innovation workshops, and cross-cultural peer exchanges, offering participants a multifaceted experience in China.
Highlights of the Camp
The opening ceremony featured a warm welcome performance by Chinese students, followed by a speech from Russian student representatives who shared their enthusiasm for Chinese culture and anticipation for the camp.
Centered on “Chinese Culture and Technological Innovation,” the camp provided tailored activities:
On-campus learning: Mandarin classes, calligraphy, and hands-on sessions at the Intelligent Innovation Workshop.
Peer interaction: Visits to Xi’an Technological University’s Affiliated High School, where students bonded through games and discussions.
Cultural immersion: Archery, tea ceremonies, Hanfu dressing, and off-campus cultural tours deepened their appreciation of Chinese traditions.
At the closing ceremony, Russian students showcased bilingual performances, including a Chinese dance and a Russian fairy tale retold in Mandarin, expressing gratitude to the organizers. Ms. Yulia, the Russian delegation leader, remarked, “The dedication of the Chinese team left a lasting impression. Our students not only improved their language skills but also gained fresh perspectives on China’s development and heritage. This will remain a treasured memory.”
Significance and Future Plans
As the first short-term program for international students in recent years, this Spring Camp marked a milestone in enriching China’s study-abroad education initiatives. Moving forward, the School of International Education will leverage this success to broaden collaborative opportunities and foster diverse global learning experiences.
