School of Computer Science and Engineering
The School of Computer Science and Engineering was founded in 1978. There are 110 faculty members, including 93 full-time teachers, 16 professors and 27 associate professors. There are more than 2300 full-time students, including 2200 undergraduates and nearly 200 full-time postgraduates.
The school has three master degree authorization disciplines that are computer science & technology, software engineering and armament science & technology, including six master degree awarding points.There are six research directions：intelligent detection and control, big data processing, image processing and so on. It has a novel network and detection & control national local joint engineering laboratory, a provincial engineering laboratory, a school-level 3D information research and development center, and a school-level research and development center, 13 research departments. In recent five years, the school has undertaken more than 300 research projects, won 6 provincial and ministerial awards, obtained more than 70 patents and software copyright registration, and published more than 600 academic papers.
The school has four undergraduate majors：Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Network Engineering and Internet of Things Engineering. There are five provincial excellent sharing resource courses, two provincial comprehensive reform pilot projects, a provincial teaching demonstration center, a provincial practice teaching base for undergraduate, two provincial innovation experimental areas for talent training, four provincial teaching teams, and fifteen laboratory.
The school greatly pays importance to the cultivation for students' practical and innovative abilities. The major of computer science & technology and software engineering have joined the National Education and Training Program for Outstanding Engineer. The major of software engineering specialty has been approved as the second type of national characteristic specialty major. The major of computer science and technology has been approved as the first-class major in Shaanxi Province. There majors, which are software engineering majors ,Internet of Things, have been approved as first-class development majors in Shaanxi Province. There are more than 10 practice and training bases for students in large-scale innovative enterprises in Xi'an High-tech Zone.
Our students won many awards in the national Internet+ innovation and entrepreneurship competition, and achieved success in more than competition, for example, Shaanxi province and the national network security competition, the National Mathematical Modeling Contest and so on. Every year, undergraduate students are admitted to well-known domestic universities for master's degree. The main employment units for graduates are IT enterprises, military enterprises, banks, research institutes, government departments and education and research industries, such as Baidu, Tencent, Alibaba, etc. They are mainly engaged in product development, testing, software development, teaching, research and management. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates is over 93% . Graduates have a solid theoretical foundation and strong practical ability, and are highly praised by employers.
