The 2nd commencement ceremony for class of 2022 was held in 4-307 at 10:30 am on July 3rd. A total of 21 foreign graduates from 8 different nations, ZHAO Xiangmo, President of XATU, LIANG Yunhe, Deputy Party Committee Secretary of CPC at XATU, LIU Bo, Vice President of XATU, ZHANG Qun, Vice President of XATU, XUE Hong, the former dean of SIE as our special guest as well as heads of some specific departments related to foreign students cultivation attended the ceremony, presided over by Niu Tongzhuang, Deputy Dean of the School of International Education.
The 2022 graduation report and excellent cadres of graduates announcement and the decision to honor outstanding graduates who are pursuing studies in China was presented by ZHANG Dongmin, the Deputy Director of the International Office.
The Excellent Cadres of Graduates Awards were awarded to Irene and Linton by LIANG Yunhe, the Deputy Party Committee Secretary of the CPC at XATU.
He Dongfeng, a professor at the school of mechanical and electrical engineering and a tutor for overseas master students, delivered a speech as a faculty representative. He congratulated the international students who had successfully completed their studies and challenged them to strive towards becoming communicators, benefactors of China's long-standing historical culture, participants in worldwide education, and contributors to the prosperity and development of all people.
The graduates commended the teachers for their devotion and hard work by giving flowers to three teacher representatives. Following that, speeches were given by Foday Koroma, who represented undergraduate graduates, and Agbenu Irene Korkor Nyengor, who represented graduate students. Foday exhorted the graduates and continuing students to work hard, "never quit," fall seven times, but rise up eight times, and most importantly, do what makes them happy since, in the end, that is what would count the most.
Irene mentioned the Xi'an Technological University aims to offer top-notch education to students from all over the world. She is willing to work with everyone for better global education because the Chinese educational system unquestionably had a positive impact on her life. She also challenged the graduates and continuing students to take advantage of every opportunity and moment they had while still being young, active students on the university's campus in order to meet the objectives they had set for themselves at the institution.
Zhang Qun delivered certificates to the graduates and gave them souvenirs.
The International Education College and the six training colleges received gifts from six graduates.
LIU Bo, on behalf of Alumni Association Office, announced the list of appointments for the Alumni Liaison Representatives, and the graduate representatives received the letter of appointment from XUE Hong..
ZHAO Xiangmo, president of XATU, gave the commencement speech and he praised the development and endeavors of foreign students in China as well as their contribution to the multiculturalism of the school and extending his congratulations to the 21 graduates who are ready to set out on a new chapter in their lives. Subsequently, he reaffirmed the recent successes of Xi'an Technological University in regards to studying in China and presented objectives and future ambitions. He emphasized that a real person is created through time via perseverance, adversity, and hardship.
He gave three primary pieces of advice to the graduates: Aim for the highest and care about individuals in the entire world. The achievement of the goals does depend on individual striving, but only when the individual goals are incorporated into the growth of the nation and the well-being of the people, will they be meaningful and everlasting, he reminded them. He advised them to stick to their goals and embrace the world, that they may remain successful and invincible, make an ardent and persistent effort to find the truth, be meek and gentle, and consider virtues their companions. He exhorted everyone to practice tolerance and learn to put oneself in other people's shoes if we want to coexist as a species and preserve civilization.
At the end of the ceremony, all of the graduates posed for a group portrait with the leaders and teachers in attendance.
