School of Electronic Information Engineering

The School of Electronic Information Engineering was founded in 1978. In 2003, it merged with the Institute of Applied Electronics Technology to set up the School of Electronic Information Engineering.The School has one master's degree in Control Science and Engineering which is first-level discipline, secondary discipline of Communication and Information Systems, as well as control engineering electronic and communication engineering 2 professional master licensing field. The discipline of control science and engineering is the dominant discipline in Shaanxi Province. The detection technology and automation equipment is the national defense specialty discipline. Currently there are 310 graduate students in the School.

There are 5 undergraduate majors, including Automation, Communication engineering, Electronic Information Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Biomedical Engineering. The major of Automation is the Shaanxi famous brand major, the Shaanxi specialty, the state-level specialty, the education training program of the outstanding engineer of the Ministry of Education, the comprehensive reform pilot program of Shaanxi Province, and the "First-class professional" in Shaanxi universities. There are 2807 full-time undergraduate students in school.

Automation: Students in Automation should learn related theory of automatic control and modern automatic control technology, including control theory and application, information collection and processing, automatic control system design and implementation of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Students can obtain certifications such as automation system engineers, automation engineers, registered electrical engineers, etc., and engage in related engineering technology research and development, design, system operation, maintenance and management in the automation industry. Communication engineering: Communication engineering is the major in learning communication theory and modern communication technology, including theoretical knowledge and practical skills in communication technology, communication systems and communication networks. Students can obtain communication engineer certificates, network engineer certificates and other practice certificates, and engage in communication technology and equipment research, design and manufacturing, production management, communication system and network planning and construction, operation and maintenance, technical services, etc..

Electronic Information Engineering: Students in Electronic Information Engineering learn the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of electronic technology, information technology, communication technology, etc., and study the information acquisition, transmission and processing, design, development, application and integration of electronic equipment and information systems. Students can obtain certificates such as embedded engineer certificates, IoT engineers certificates, software test engineers, etc., and engage in the analysis and design, research and development, management and maintenance of electronic equipment, information systems and communication systems.

Electrical Engineering and Automation: The major of Electrical Engineering and Automation has the features of combination of strong and weak electricity, electromechanical combination, hardware and software combination, electrical technology and electronic technology, components and systems. Students in this major learn theoretical knowledge and practical skills such as electrical and electronic, system control, electrical control, power system automation, electrical automation equipment and computer application technology.

Currently there are 148 teachers, including 26 professors and 45 associate professors. 52 teachers have doctoral degrees, and more than 95% teachers have graduate degrees. There are 4 Shaanxi provincial professors, 1 leading talents in science and technology in Shaanxi Province, 1 Shaanxi provincial outstanding teacher, and 1 Technology New Star in Shaanxi Province. The School has hired 1 national “Thousand Talents Program” expert, 2 Shaanxi provincial “Thousand Talents Program”, and more than 10 domestic and foreign distinguished professors.

The School has lots of national and provincial teaching and research platforms, such as national-local joint engineering laboratory of new network and detection and control, National Electrical and Electronic Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Shaanxi Provincial Independent System and Intelligent Control International Joint Research Center, Shaanxi Province Comprehensive Automation Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, Shaanxi Province Electronic Information and Control Virtual Simulation experiment teaching center, and Shaanxi Province Pilot School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform of higher education.

Based on the national innovation-driven development strategy and the “One Belt, One Road” development plan, the School adheres to the deep integration of military and civilians, and fully utilizes research characteristics and advantages such as independent autonomous systems, information perception, integration and intelligent processing, intelligent control, high-speed target detection and recognition, and complex system control and optimization, wireless communication and information interconnection. The School undertakes various national science and technology projects such as the national key research and development plan projects, the National Natural Science Foundation projects, the National Defense Science and Technology Commission projects, the Equipment Development Department projects, the projects of Science and Technology Commission of the Military Commission, and other provincial projects. The annual expenditure on science and technology is more than 20 million.It has won more than 20 awards such as Shaanxi provincial science and technology progress awards and Xi’an science and technology progress awards. More than 200 academic papers have been published each year, of which more than 40 have been searched by SCI/Ei. And more than 30 national invention patents have been obtained.

Based on the Bayesian graph model theory, using the nonlinear dynamic system motion sequence parameter estimation and autonomous optimization as clues, the Bayesian nonlinear dynamic system multi-source motion sequence information retrieval and analysis research is carried out, and 2 monographs supported by the national defense fund has been published. The monograph "Iterative Learning Control" summarizes the pioneering and innovative research results of the iterative learning control theory and application. The new research area "iterative learning identification" is proposed based on extracting the outer ballistic aerodynamic coefficient curve.

The developed high-speed video acquisition system for anti-missile weapons and high-speed target detection and detection of target fields solves key problems such as weapon system test information acquisition, system comprehensive parameter test, weapon performance evaluation, and target damage effectiveness evaluation.

The monitoring of permafrost subgrade settlement in the alpine regions is applied to the national strategic transportation lines, such as Qinghai-Tibet railway, Qinghai-Tibet highway, Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway and Nenlin railway, etc., which solves the problem of data collection under the long-term unsupervised state of these strategic transportation lines and ensures the safe operation of these transportation lines.

The research and development of the oilfield multi-arm caliper numerical control test system is applied to various oilfields such as Shengli Oilfield, Changqing Oilfield and Tuha Oilfield, which solves the technical problem of accurate measurement of oil and gas casing under high temperature and high pressure during deep redevelopment of oil and gas fields.

The key special projects of the national key R&D plan undertaken have solved the technical problems of low efficiency of solar clean energy inverter and made outstanding contributions to the defense industry and the local economy.
